our yearly oscar workout
the time has come for our yearly oscar workout. the only muscle being exercised for this workout is thee mind (film depending) and possibly the stomach, if belly laughs ensue.
andrew and i happen to be big fans of the silver screen and have a little too much fun watching the academy awards each february. we usually order in some spicy thai or indian, "oooing" and "ahhh" over what she wore and who won what. yeah. i guess we are that couple.
so without further adieu, this week marks week one of watching oscar noms. we started with a toast to good film with a glass of vino, obviously...and then d'jango. if you can handle wee bit of gore from mister tarantino, lots (and i mean lots) of syrupy red food coloring, and a whole bunch of sarcastic awesomeness you will just love it. we did. and we also stayed up way past our bedtime to finish the whole darn thing. well worth it, too. so what can you expect us doing on a random weeknight somewhere sometime from 8-10ish? well, let me just say there are about ten more on our "to watch" list and we best get started.
head here for some oscar info.
if you have seen any oscar nominated movies so far, what were they? and did you like it?!

Oh boy - I have some serious watching to do!! I have only seen Les Mis on the list of 'best picture' films. Maybe one night this week we can sneak out to see another. D'jango is at the top of my list.
ReplyDeletewasn't les mis AMAZING!?!?! i want to go back and see it now. so wonderful and passionate.
DeleteI don't know if I'll be able to sit through D'jango. Is it violent? I've seen Argo, Life Of Pi, Les Mis and Beasts Of The Sourthern Wild and the latter is a must watch!! Seeing Silver Linings Playbook this weekend. I have a massive crush on Jen Lawrence!
ReplyDeleteoh you are going LOVE silver linings playbook. it is really, really good. what did you think of life of pi?? i want to see it but the hubs says nah....
Deleteoh and d'jango. YES.. violent. very much so.
DeleteDjango was really good. I've seen all the movies so far except Zero Dark Thirty, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Amour, and Lincoln.
ReplyDeletewe saw zero dark 30 last night and really liked it. it didn't beat les mis, but was interesting enough. :)
DeleteMy hubby wants to see Django. We went to see Zero Dark Thirty, Silver Linings Playbook, Argo and Les Mis. All were fantastic! All were a must-see!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Oscars too, can't wait!
